Ash Wednesday (Lent Begins)

No event, just wanted to wish everyone well during Lent and a Happy Ash Wednesday.

On Ash Wednesday, many Christians attend church services where a minister or priest applies ashes to their foreheads in the shape of a cross. The ashes are typically made by burning palm branches blessed on the previous year's Palm Sunday. This symbolic act serves as a reminder of human mortality and the call to repentance and reflection during the Lenten season. Believers often undertake acts of fasting, prayer, and self-denial as a way to prepare spiritually for the celebration of Easter.

Lent is a Christian season of reflection and preparation that lasts for 40 days, excluding Sundays, leading up to Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and represents the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness. During Lent, believers often engage in practices such as fasting, repentance, prayer, and almsgiving as a way to draw closer to God and prepare spiritually for the celebration of Easter.
